The authors present the results of an evaluative study on the design and implementation of a graduate follow-up program for people who graduated from public teacher training schools in the state of Veracruz, Mexico, with the participation of a non-probabilistic sample of 348 graduates. Amongst the main results of the study we could observe that a high percentage of graduates reached the required qualifications to enroll in the Professional Teaching Service, which means that the professional training acquired fulfilled the expectations of the workplace where they are employed; likewise, the work conditions within the institutions are mostly satisfactory, in contrast with the facilities, geographic location and especially the prevailing security conditions.
