Abstract

This paper provides a brief analysis of the 120 day strike that occurred in 2012 launched by the faculty of Brazilian federal universities. Emphasis is placed on the discussion regarding government projects for higher education in present-day Brazil, and the strike is addressed as a confrontation whose main theme was the decline of the conditions in teaching work, precisely derived from these projects. At the end an evaluation is made of some aspects of the impact the strike had given the circumstances.
