This study aims to evaluate the perceptions of academic practices and pedagogical attributes of teaching that show the process of academic preparation to take part in an evaluative learning event. The exploratory study was implemented in an institution located in the municipality of Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro, and the graduates who took part in the "Exame Nacional de Desempenho de Estudantes" (ENADE) were interviewed. The questionnaires were developed based on the Kano model, in which respondents had five alternatives for each attribute. The study made it possible to understand the students’ perception about how some teaching and assessment practices helped to create motivation for them to want to learn.
