Abstract

The article contributes historical reflections based on the analysis of the 1979 curriculum of the History degree in the Open University System (SUA) of the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature (FFyL) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the first institution countrywide to offer a degree in history under this scheme, with diversified professional training in the area of history. Although institutional documents and pedagogical analysis do exist we lack a historical vision of this model to understand what were the guidelines for the contents of the 1979 curriculum and in how far it has maintained or not its validity as a curriculum model.

Claudia-Priscila Vargas Delgado, UNAM

Licenciada y Maestra en Historia por la UNAM. Profesora del Colegio de Historia de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la UNAM, tanto del Sistema Escolarizado como del Abierto. Actualmente, Secretaría Académica de la División SUAyED de la mencionada Facultad.

Isabel Avella Alaminos, UNAM

Licenciada en Historia por la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la U.N.A.M. (1997), maestra (2002) y doctora en Historia (2006) por el Centro de Estudios Históricos de El Colegio de México. Realizó una estancia posdoctoral en la Facultad de Economía de la U.N.A.M. (2007-2009). Profesora de tiempo completo interina en la licenciatura en Historia del SUAyED de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la U.N.A.M., en donde imparte las asesorías de Teoría Económica y Seminario de Tesis; también imparte Historia Económica Mundial siglo XX en la licenciatura en Historia del sistema escolarizado de la misma Facultad. Su publicación más reciente es: “Las primeras operaciones del Export-Import Bank en México, 1935-1942”, Mexican Studies/ Estudios Mexicanos, vol.28, no.1, invierno de 2012.
